A high scoring natural from Brazil, this red catui has aromas of brown sugar, toffee and honey roasted nuts. Flavors of cocoa powder and mild orange come through in a very clean cup with a smooth, medium light body and medium acidity.
Farm info: Producer Claudio Pimentel comes from a long line of coffee producers and learned much from his father, José Claudio Pimentel, producer of coffees from Sítio São Bartolomeu, a farm that has been in the Pimentel family since the 1940’s. José Claudio also learned from his father and is proud to pass this knowledge on to his son.
Fazenda Paraguai is located in the São Bartolomeu community of the city of Lambari in Sul de Minas. The farm is packed with potential to produce quality coffees, which Claudio Vinicius sees as the greatest satisfaction after the effort he puts into producing coffee each day.
Claudio and his father rigorously manage the farm to use as few chemical inputs as possible, incorporate natural fertilizers, and preserve the natural resources on the farm. The property’s 19.5 hectares have 16 hectares planted with coffee between 950-1100 meters above sea level.
